Longevity
You’ve worked hard. You’ve got your time back. Now you want a body to match.
Our Longevity program is designed to help people aged 60 and over get strong, fit, and capable – so you can move freely, do the things you love, and make the most of everything this next chapter has to offer.
What I love most about Movement Co is that you don't have to dress up in your fancy gear that is actually quite casual. The people are good, all sorts of ages, trainers and coaches. Yeah, it's just really cool. Redefine possible means that if you put your mind to it, can do anything basically. Freedom to move means that when I get older that I'll be able to be independent, that I hope that I'm not going to be sick and dependent on other people to push me around and just being healthy. I have never felt personally too old to train at Movement Co but many people have told me. I've just basically thought as long as the coaches are supporting me and I can actually achieve certain goals that I want to achieve, you're never too old to do anything really.
Why LONGEVITY?
Well it all started way back over a year ago when our grandson, we came to watch him a couple of times actually and we just looked over and saw some adults training in the corner there and they were doing some function or movements and we just thought wow wonder if we could try that at our age so. I've always done sport and exercise throughout my whole life and I also like a challenge so I don't want to say I can't do something, I want to say can I do something? And that's why I came here, because I wanted to be able to do what I could see that people we knew a gym could do. I want to strive to be able to reach a higher level of capability. We've always been ones to get out there and try and improve ourselves no matter what age we were at the time so we love sport, we always did. Because we're doing it together I think that's encouraging both of us to get out there and just give it a go and seeing others there no matter what age they are, okay we can do that. Seen improvements even small gradual improvements is an improvement. Redefine possible to me means never to say I can't do something. So you always give something a go. If I don't have freedom to move I can't get out and enjoy life. I can't enjoy my family. I can't enjoy my husband. Yes, means the world. It's health. Body, mind and soul.
Each session is a mix of upper and lower body strength, balance, and mobility work – the foundations of healthy, active ageing.
Resistance training builds and preserves muscle, increases bone density, improves grip strength, and develops the balance that keeps you steady and confident. Thoughtfully paced, fully modifiable, and delivered in a space that’s entirely yours.
WHO IS LONGEVITY FOR?
My biggest challenge before joining Movement Co was mobility and core strength. I just had issues with work and being in construction industry for thirty years and just was diagnosed with an eroding lumber disc. I've achieved since I've started training here just a massive amount. I mean I came in here over four years ago now I think and was stiff as a board, could hardly touch my toes and now I just feel like I've moved on so much. I can literally do the splits. I've got a full pancake pretty much and just my mobility and flexibility has just gone through the roof. Lower back pain has pretty much dispersed, it's gone and now I just feel so much stronger. I had a DEXA scan last year and I've actually increased bone density by fifteen percent and I've put on three kilos of muscle. So yeah, just in terms of that it's been great. Having the freedom to move is everything. I mean, me being an older fella can just means I can do everything I want to. I still ride my motorbikes, I still play tennis, I still do everything without pain and just being able to keep up with guys that are half my age sometimes. That's great.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is this class suitable for me if I've never trained before?
Absolutely. Longevity is designed with beginners in mind. Our coaches will walk you through every exercise, show you the right technique, and make sure you’re working at a level that’s safe and appropriate for you from day one.
What does a typical class look like?
Each 60 min session includes a warm-up, followed by a mix of upper and lower body strength exercises, balance work, and mobility. The exercises change each week so it stays fresh, but the format is consistent so you always know what to expect.
I have an injury or a health condition - can I still come?
In most cases, yes. Our coaches are experienced in modifying exercises to work around injuries, joint issues, and health conditions that are common with age. We recommend having a quick chat with us before your first class so we can make sure we set you up well.
Will I be training alongside much younger people?
No — Longevity is a dedicated class for adults 60 and over. You’ll be training with people who are at the same stage of life, working toward similar goals, in a space that’s designed specifically for this group.
How quickly will I start to notice a difference?
Most people notice improvements in how they feel day-to-day within the first few weeks — better energy, less stiffness, and moving more easily. Visible strength gains typically follow within 6–8 weeks of consistent attendance.
Do I need to bring anything or have any special equipment?
Just comfortable clothes and a water bottle. We provide all the equipment you need. Supportive training shoes are recommended — if you’re unsure what to wear, just ask us when you book.
