STRENGTH AND STRETCH MOBILITY
with Mike Makossa (special guest)
DESCRIPTION
This workshop will contain a series of exercise tasks aimed at improving mobility, accessible
for beginner to advanced level movers. Emphasis will be placed on cueing areas of the body
to perform the tasks. The workshop could be labelled as a strength and stretch mobility
class but will also provide opportunity to take notes (mental or physical) of ways to
approach mobility. As always, questioning is encouraged and finding weaknesses as
opportunities to improve is supported.
To facilitate optimal neural engagement, I recommend a food intake prior to attending; as a
nutritionist I can make suggestions and I will give an example of my own prep. If time
permits, I would eat 3 eggs and 1 cup cooked brown rice with tomatoes 2h beforehand or
1/3c cooked brown rice 1h beforehand. This is an example of glucose polymers and branch
chain aminos, combined with ascorbic acid as a mix for this type of training.
